On Friday afternoon, Sept. 30, at approximately 3 pm EST, ESPN boxing writer Dan Rafael reported that Tyson Fury had tested positive for the main ingredient in cocaine. The banned substance was found in a random urine test administered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA)
on Sept. 22. By rule, Fury has the right to request an analysis of the "B" sample at his expense.
A British tabloid previously reported that Tyson Fury was seen partying at his local pub at 2 AM several days before he backed out of his Oct. 29 fight with Wladimir Klitschko. A spokesman for Team Klitschko said he was suffering from depression and was "medically unfit."
