Boxing is alive and well across the pond

The following are champions from an area where the population is not all that big:

Tyson Fury, linear heavyweight

Anthony Joshua, IBF heavyweight

Tony Bellew, WBC cruiserweight

Liam Smith, WBO junior-middleweight

James DeGale, IBF super-middleweight

Billy Joe Saunders, WBO middleweight

Kell Brook, IBF welterweight

Ricky Burns, WBA super-lightweight

Terry Flanagan, WBO lightweight

Anthony Crolla, WBA lightweight

Lee Selby, IBF featherweight

Lee Haskins, IBF bantamweight

Jamie McDonnell, WBA bantamweight

With sage matching--- and with Luke Campbell, Chris Eubank, Stephen Smith, and David Haye lurking and Khan still viable, albeit perhaps in the Olympics, the number could even grow or at the least remain intact.

And with the UK, unlike the US, slapping stiff penalties on dopers like Kid Galahad, boxing is alive and well across the pond as perhaps never before.
