Bob Arum was quoted the other day saying that there is a strong chance Terence Crawford's opponent for his December 10th HBO date will come from the PBC stable.
Many assumed this meant Felix Diaz whom his promoter Lou Dibella has been begging for an opportunity to face Crawford. However, Diaz is a tricky southpaw as well as accomplished who would give nightmares and fits to anyone he faces. Many felt he beat Lamont Peterson last year and then took down hyped prospect Sammy Vazquez a few months ago.
It is more probable that the opponent from the PBC stable would be John Molina. Molina, coming off a big win against Ruslan Provodnikov, is the kind of opponent whom Crawford can look really good against to help set up a much bigger fight (Manny Pacquiao) in 2017. I see no way that Top Rank risks Crawford against someone like Diaz thought that is the fight certainly HBO and us fans would prefer. Instead, Molina seems very likely for the December 10th date.
